Simple steps, bright future:
Business and the
environment together.
An effective way to create positive change and encourage employees to adopt new behaviours in the workplace and at home is to create an internal Green Team. The Green Team is responsible for spear heading internal initiatives and encouraging employees to take action.
Depending on the size of your business, the Green Team should include staff from various departments to ensure a broad perspective of the barriers and challenges each department faces. It's important to meet regularly and set realistic short-term and long-term goals for the team and business.
A great resource to help you get started is Bob Willard's The Sustainability Champion's Guide Book. This practical, easy-to-follow guidebook helps sustainability champions at any level lead their company to become a smarter, more successful, and more sustainable enterprise.

"I think that right now, especially during these economic times, doing more with less makes sense," she said. "It's not just good for the environment, it's good for the bottom line."
